FIR – Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir is a tall, straight-growing softwood native to the Pacific Northwest, valued for its strength and dimensional stability. It features a mostly vertical grain pattern and offers impressive hardness and durability for its class. Color tones typically range from light yellow-tan to warm, light brown, making it suitable for both structural and finished applications.

MHG – Mahogany

Mahogany is a premium hardwood prized for its strength, longevity, and deep reddish tones. Known for its smooth, straight grain and minimal defects, it machines cleanly and delivers a refined appearance. These characteristics make mahogany a preferred material for luxury doors, fine furniture, and high-end architectural applications.

KAL – Knotty Alder

Knotty Alder is a medium-density hardwood sourced from the Pacific Northwest, recognized for its consistent grain and natural character. Its light brown base color often includes subtle red or peach undertones, complemented by visible knots. The wood’s softer composition allows for easy machining and excellent acceptance of stains and finishes.

KPN – Knotty Pine

Knotty Pine is a widely available North American softwood known for its expressive knot patterns and rustic appeal. The wood typically displays warm honey or straw-colored tones, contrasted by darker reddish-brown knots. Its natural variation highlights the organic character of the material and adds visual interest to doors and millwork.

OAK – Oak

Oak is a dense, heavy hardwood commonly found in the North Central United States. It features a bold, straight grain with a coarse texture that adds strong visual definition. Oak readily absorbs a wide range of stains and finishes, making it a versatile choice for both traditional and contemporary designs.

PON – Ponderosa Pine

Ponderosa Pine is one of the most plentiful softwood species in the United States. It exhibits a straight, uniform grain with limited reddish-brown heartwood. The sapwood is marked by wide growth rings and warm honey or straw coloration, offering a clean and consistent appearance.

POP – Poplar

Poplar is an Eastern U.S. hardwood known for its smooth texture and straight grain. Its color can vary widely, ranging from pale yellow and tan to olive green, which gradually darkens with sunlight exposure. As a medium-density hardwood, poplar machines well and is often selected for painted or finished applications.

PRM – Primed

Woodgrain offers multiple door styles with a factory-applied primed finish designed to improve paint adhesion and color consistency. Interior doors are constructed using MDF veneers and panels to ensure smooth surfaces and superior paint performance. Router-carved doors from the MDF Design Collection are also available in primed options.

RAD – Radiata Pine

Radiata Pine is a plantation-grown softwood sourced from Chile, New Zealand, and Australia. It features a light cream coloration with a distinct, uniform grain pattern. Compared to many other pine species, Radiata Pine is harder, more stable, and contains fewer knots, making it well-suited for precision manufacturing.
